Fire that Purifies
Fire that Purifies
Text: Acts 2:1–4 and Exodus 3:2–3
Throughout Scripture, the fire of God is a symbol of His holy presence, a purifying force that prepares His servants for divine assignments.
Moses encounters a fire that burns but does not consume, revealing a God who purifies without destroying. Likewise, the disciples experience tongues of fire resting upon them, a sign that God had come to cleanse, empower, and commission them.
These encounters show that divine fire is not meant to harm but to transform, refine, and equip.
When Moses saw the burning bush, the ground became holy, and Moses allow himself to be set apart for God’s purpose. In the same way, when the fire of the Holy Spirit descended on the disciples, it purified their hearts, removed fear, and gave them divine utterance.
They became God’s mouthpiece, empowered for the mission ahead. Today, God is ready to release that same purifying fire upon His people—to consume impurities, free us from every distraction, break hindrances, and transform us as He prepares us for the work He is calling us to do
