Hallelujah! (2)

Sunday, 21 September 2025

Hallelujah – Praise Yahweh! This is a call for every heart and tongue to glorify the Lord. Scripture overflows with reasons to lift this highest praise. “Praise Him for His mighty acts; praise Him according to His excellent greatness” (Psalm 150:2). “Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns” (Revelation 19:6). God is sovereign, powerful, and worthy of endless adoration.

Praise is not only about the 'why', but also about the 'how'. “Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised” (Psalm 145:3) calls for wholehearted devotion. We are invited to rejoice with sound and movement: “Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet; praise Him with cymbals and dancing” (Psalm 150:4–5). True praise is joyful, exuberant, and wholehearted.

Praise also draws us into God’s presence: “Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise” (Psalm 100:4). To say Hallelujah is to align with heaven, giving God the honor He alone deserves. As Isaiah 43:21 declares, “The people whom I formed for Myself will declare My praise.”

Take time to reflect on personal reasons to praise God and lift your own song of thanksgiving.
