Marriage, God’s Design (Genesis 2: 18-25)

Marriage is God’s masterpiece, His creation, designed to bring Him glory. It was not born from human requests but from God’s divine initiative.

In Genesis 2:18, God saw a need in Adam, which he did not even recognise: It is not good for the man to be alone. In His wisdom, He provided companionship, knowing that Adam would benefit from it. So God said in Gen 2:18b I will make a helper suitable for him.God’s design for marriage is that two distinct individuals learn to live together in love, understanding, and mutual respect. It is a lifelong commitment without a step-by-step human manual. Only His Word and Spirit can guide us.
If your marriage does not feel like it’s walking in God’s blessing, know this: He who designed marriage is also able to restore it. The same God who saw Adam’s need still sees yours today. Invite Him back into the centre, trust His timing, and let His love shape your union. God’s design is good, and His blessing can flow again.
